Rick Harris - September 2008

This month I am proud to feature Rick Harris.

Rick Harris is photographer based out of Toronto, Canada. He describes his work as an attempt to capture decay and ephemera close to home.

This includes landscapes, waterscapes, and a wide assortment of found objects. More for a recorded document than an artistic journey, he scours his backroads exploring forgotten, discarded and disappearing landscapes.

Rick is a member of a group of photographers called, The Shadow Collective. This is a group of photographers and artists with a focus on urban exploration; with a permanent exhibition in Toronto.

Rick has joined Xanluna! as a regular author and will be submitting feature articles and helping Xanluna! cover the photography front. You can see a sample of Rick's work under our newest gallery section and visit more on Rick in our Inside People section.

Please join me in welcoming Rick and look forward to some pretty amazing photos!

Albert Einstein

The fairest thing we can experience is the mysterious.

It is the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and science.

He who knows it not and can no longer wonder, no longer feels amazement, is as good as dead, a snuffed-out candle.

Eleanor Roosevelt

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift; that's why they call it the present!
